Ganggoolie hits BBC Radio website with Neymar Dance
Dancehall artiste Ganggoolie is riding high these days as his popular Neymar Dance has been added to the BBC Radio list of songs eligible for radio play.
"It feels great that this song has so much international appeal, there are dancers doing it in Sweden, France, Germany, the UK. I even got a video from Portugal. And now with BBC radio adding the song to their website for rotation, the song is set to take off. Ah long time mi no get a song that mek it as far as BBC radio in the UK, that is massive," Ganggoolie said.
The song is based on Brazilian footballer Neymar's antics at the recent 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Ganggoolie recorded the single on the Waters Production label, and it will be officially released via iTunes this month.
"To the response to the Neymar Dance, to the way the selectors dem ah talk about it in the dance, mi plan to do a video, worse the football season start again," he said.
The dance involves people tumbling on the ground and sometimes writhing in make-belief pain to a catchy dancehall song and rhythm by Ganggoolie, who has emerged as a social commentator in recent weeks.
