Macka Diamond hitting right fashion notes on tour
The 'Diamond of Dancehall', Charmaine 'Macka Diamond' Munroe, is stepping out fashionably for her Sweet 16 birthday tour now entering its third week.
So far Macka Diamond has graced stages in Long Island, Poughkeepsie, and Rochester, New York, as well as Fayetteville, North Carolina, for her infamous annual birthday celebrations. Thus far the turnout has been very good for each event and Macka Diamond has been turning heads in her unique style choices.
"For my birthday tour, I didn't want to shop at the regular places, so I really searched worldwide for outfits that match my style. Even though I do listen to a few stylists sometimes, I realise that no one understands my style more than I do and I wanted people to see that at my birthday parties," she explained.
Fans of the 'Vendetta Queen' have enjoyed the addition of selector Supa Hype and the 'wining queen' Denise Belfon to a few of the stagings as well.
"It's Macka Diamond and friends so there are celebrity appearances and guests passing through. So you never know who will touch the stage. It's just a fun vibe celebrating life," Macka Diamond added.
The Bahamas leg of the tour has been postponed due to one of the main promoters getting ill, and other issues out of her control. Macka Diamond has, however, added a Brooklyn performance this weekend at the I Love Saturdays event at Oasis Lounge featuring Alkaline's and Mavado's official DJ Troopa Traloopa.
The tour then heads to Canada on February 3 and 4 with stops in Brampton and London, Ontario.
