Dancehall deejay Rytikal is "thinking about" entering the marijuana business as a licensed grower.

The Smoke My Troubles Away deejay, who spoke with THE WEEKEND STAR following his performance at Rebel Salute last weekend, noted there have been several changes in the landscape that make it possible for him to contemplate going into the ganja business.

"We can stay inside an event and smoke and there is no problem. We also see a number of outlets where we can go buy weed freely doing good, so advancement is happening," Rytikal said.

Significant changes were made to Jamaica's Dangerous Drugs Act in 2015, which, among other things, decriminalised the possession of small quantities of ganja for personal use. At the same time, a regime was created to allow for the cultivation and sale of marijuana in the island.

Rytikal is known for songs such as Chosen, for which he has amassed the most views, approximately 24 million, on YouTube, Man of The Moment, Beauty In The Struggle, Cookie Jar, and We Okay. His latest single, The King Is Back, was released last Friday, the same night he performed on Rebel Salute.
