Man killed at MoBay shoes market

A man was shot dead and a woman injured after they were ambushed at a bar at the Old Shoes Market in Montego Bay, St James, on Saturday night.

Police have identified the dead man as Ocoy Singh, aka Ants Man, 20, from Hugo Lane in Norwood, St James.

Police reported that about 8:30 p.m. both were at the bar having a meal when they were pounced upon by armed men who opened fire him them. The were taken to hospital where Singh was pronounced dead, and the woman admitted in serious but stable condition.

Several blood stained furniture were seen thrown outside which bears testimony of the brutal attack.

The woman who got shot was one of the many vendors whose shops were destroyed by fire in July. She along with other vendors lost several million dollars worth of goods.

No motive has been established for the attack, neither has any suspect been identified.
