We want to come home
I am writing on behalf of a number of us here in Barbados. I came here on the 6th of December and was working at a popular beach house. I stopped working in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic. There are a large number of us here who want to return home. We are out of money -- where we are living we are unable to pay rent. We are worried and frustrated because our landlord may put us out. We are unable to buy food because all the money we had is all done.
I'm using this medium to reach out to our Jamaican Prime Minister. People are returning home from all over, when will be our time?
Sleepless nights
I'm at my wits end. We have made visits to immigration, to Caribbean Airlines because we have our return tickets, but we are only told they will call us. We don't know what to do.
We are having sleepless nights. We want to come home. We have no food and no money. How are we going to survive? We need to hear when is our time to come home, please Mr Prime Minister, we want to come home.
We have nobody here to help us. It's hard on us here, very hard. We need help. Please! Please! Please!
