One killed in Washington Boulevard crash

One person is dead, and several others injured following a motor vehicle crash along Washington Boulevard, in the vicinity of Duhaney Park, St Andrew, on Tuesday morning.

Head of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, Assistant Commissioner of Police Gary McKenzie, told The Gleaner that the collision occurred about 9:00 a.m.

It involved a Toyota Coaster bus and a truck.

"The police have begun their investigation, are checking with the relevant medical facilities in [order to] ascertain how the crash occurred, how many persons have been injured, and what other steps need to be taken," he said.
