Teens charged with series of break-ins in St Mary
Early this morning detectives in St Mary arrested two teens, each 18, who they believed to be responsible for a series of break-ins in Port Maria.
The police patrolling the community report that they observed the two standing near a shop acting in a way that aroused suspicions.
The team accosted the men and searched them, along with the surrounding area and one steel cutter was allegedly found.
Further investigations showed that the two emerged as suspects in a break-in at a nearby establishment, where an undetermined sum of cash was stolen.
They were arrested.
A follow-up operation was then conducted at a building in Parry Town, St. Ann, occupied by an associate of the suspects.
Several stolen items were recovered however no arrest was made.
The two men were subsequently interviewed and have since been linked to six previous break-ins in Port Maria between November 12 and 13.
Charges are currently pending against them, as investigations continue.
