Man charged with murder of 16-y-o boy

The Hunts Bay police have charged Tyrese Ryman, otherwise known as 'Reeseman' in connection to the murder of a 16-year-old boy at the intersection of Ashley Road and Metcalf Road in Kingston.

The 20-year-old from West Avenue, Kingston 13 has been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony.

Dead is Nigel Johnson, also known as 'JJ,' of Rodney Road, Kingston 13.

The police allege that around 9:15 p.m. on May 25, Johnson was walking along the roadway when Ryman and other men approached him and opened fire, hitting him.

The police were alerted, and upon their arrival, they found Johnson with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Following an investigation, Ryman was arrested by the police.

He was later charged after a question-and-answer interview conducted in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is currently being arranged.
