Where is Nicky? Family desperate for answers after Old Harbour resident disappears
For three agonising weeks, the laughter has disappeared from Nicholette Lawrence’s Old Harbour Glades home.
The 33-year-old beautician, known as Nicky for her bubbly personality and generous spirit, has been missing since July 23, leaving her family desperate for answers and praying she will walk back through the door.
Her sister, Bethany Hartley, said the family is struggling with the uncertainty.
“We are not doing too well as a family because, at the end of the day, we need to know what happen to her,” Hartley said.
“We need her back home with us, her family. We want to know where she is, and I really don’t want to think the worse. It has been basically three weeks, and I guess a lot of persons will presume that she is dead but we still praying for a happy ending,” she added.
According to the Old Harbour police, Lawrence was last seen in her community at about 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 23. She was wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and cream slippers.
Lawrence, who is of medium build and about 6’ 6” tall, is described as the kind of person who could light up a room without trying.
“Nicky is a jovial and kind person and the type who would give away her last. She is very friendly and she talks a lot and likes to encourage others. She is a social butterfly and is a hard worker,” Hartley said.
But the family’s fears deepened on July 26 when several relatives received troubling WhatsApp messages from Lawrence’s phone.
Hartley said six family members received separate messages at exactly noon, prompting relatives to try desperately to contact Lawrence via her cell phone. However, it appears the instrument has been switched off.
The family remains hopeful that Lawrence will be found safe, and has put up a $150,000 cash reward for information leading to her safe return.
Anyone who has information about Nicholette Lawrence’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Old Harbour police at 876-983-2204.
