RSPL Play-offs Profile: Vassell: We want to remain humble

Former Cornwall College star midfielder Peter-Lee Vassell said that his new club Harbour View will remain humble in their quest to lift the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) title this season.

Harbour View will tackle Waterhouse in the two-way RSPL quarter-final, starting with the first leg next Monday at the Harbour View Stadium.

"It is a wonderful feeling for the team to be in the quarter-final of the league. A lot of people doubted us, but we were always confident as a group," Vassell told STAR Sports last Monday during his team's training session.

"It will take discipline and to remain humble and we will win and go forward. The coaches always tell us to be humble and great things will come."

He added: "The spirit is high in the camp. With the inclusion of veterans like Rafiek Thomas and Marcelino Blackburn, it is all good. They have not let off any bad feeling towards the other players. They always putting out the effort and encouraging the younger players."

Vassell, who transferred from Faulkland to Harbour View last summer, has been a key distributor of the ball for 'Stars of the East' this season.

He made his senior team debut for the Reggae Boyz last Sunday against Antigua and Barbuda in a friendly international.

He said: "We have played Waterhouse three times already, so we know what to expect from them. It won't be easy, but we will continue preparing for the games against Waterhouse. It is a step-by-step process in order to win the championship title."
