Lighting forces change of Reggae Boyz-Dominican Republic WCQ
The problem of lighting at the National Stadium has forced the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) to change the time of its World Cup qualifier against the Dominican Republic tomorrow.
Initially set for a 6:30 p.m. kick-off, the game will now begin at 3:30 p.m. after Concacaf, the sport’s governing body in the region, declared that lights at the National Stadium were still inadequate to host evening games.
The lighting concerns at the National Stadium were previously known, however, a last-ditch effort to improve the situation by Independence Park Limited, administrators of the National Stadium facilities, still left the conditions below Concacaf’s standards.
With the earlier kick-off, the JFF also announced that students with identification would be allowed into the bleachers tomorrow free of charge.
