Queenie heartbroken over low EP sales

Dancehall artiste Queenie said she is disappointed at the low sales and buzz surrounding her seven-track EP ‘Reign’ and is asking her fans to support her musical project.

The entertainer, who recently had a crying fit on the Internet about the lack of sales, told THE STAR that she is extremely disappointed.

“Nobody nah pay the EP nuh mind and mi disappointed because remember mi a come from shoplifting to a do something positive and nobody nah support mi. When mi a trace pon di Internet, the blogger dem take it and run with it, and now mi can’t get a forward from dem. Mi frustrated man, suh mi just start bawl,” she said.

Released on June 19 on Queenie’s June Plum Record Label, the EP features production works from herself and dancehall artiste Sikka Rhymes.

“Throughout the years, mi put a lot in the industry. Remember a seven track on the EP and mi have a Christian song on it and a condolence track. Suh dem can choose what dem prefer. Being 56 years old, I have done a lot of endorsements for others and a mi say girl power, so mi expect the nation to support mi. After all, I am the queen and mi never just get the title and the throne suh. Mi go through the good, bad and indifferent and mi wheel and come again,” Queenie said.

The entertainer also told THE STAR that she and her estranged husband Dewy are now on speaking terms, stating that she had prayed that peace would reign between them although they are not romantically involved.

“A two years and two months Dewy gone and, because a one dutty dream, him reach out back. We are communicating and he has come publicly and apologised. But remember, Dewy is in Canada and I am in England, so there caan be nuh ‘deh back’. The peace make, and that was what I prayed for,” Queenie said.
