Paternity Puzzle: Chef overjoyed to be child's father
The long-awaited results for the winning paternity story, 'Lovers uncertain about baby's paternity', published on November 20, 2015, are finally in.
Neil Brown*, a 37-year-old chef, and Kayann Wilson*, a 20-year-old student, welcomed baby Alia* into their lives six months ago, but due to a brief period of infidelity on Kayann's part, the couple was uncertain about the child's paternity.
When THE WEEKEND STAR contacted Neil to tell him the paternity results, he said he was overwhelmed with nervousness. "God know me no like bad news. Right now me nervous, me a tell you the truth," he said.
However, THE WEEKEND STAR had nothing but good news for Neil as we read the results, which said, "Based on the analysis of the DNA loci listed above, the probability of paternity is 99.999%."
Neil's nervousness immediately transformed into shouts of joy as he shared the good news with baby Alia, affectionately called 'Booboo', who was by his side at the time. "You hear, Booboo? Oh God! A mi a you father! Me a cry tears of joy right now!" Neil exclaimed.
Seemingly wanting to relive the special moment when he learned that he was Booboo's real father, Neil asked our news team to reread the results, and we happily complied.
Neil said a "big bashment party" will soon get under way to celebrate the news.
When Kayann learned the good news, she was equally ecstatic.
"Right now I can't talk because me overjoyed! I'm excited. I feel good. There is going to be a celebration tonight!" Kayann said, screaming after each sentence.
Previously, the couple had told THE WEEKEND STAR that although they loved each other dearly, they would separate if the child was not Neil's biological daughter.
But they did say that there would be a grand celebration if the results proved Neil to be the biological father, and it seems that they will be keeping their word.
