Portmore teen found hacked to death in St Thomas

The gruesome discovery of a 17-year-old boy's body with multiple chop wounds has left investigators searching for answers after residents stumbled upon the teen's body in Bamboo River, Morant Bay, on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Adjanie Christie, an unemployed resident of Greater Portmore, St Catherine.

According to police reports, at about 7:50 a.m. on August 2, residents discovered Christie's body in the Bamboo River area and alerted the authorities.

When police arrived, they found the teenager lying with multiple chop wounds. He was reportedly dressed in a blue denim short pants, a T-shirt and matching Crocs.

The body was removed to the Princess Margaret Hospital, where Christie was pronounced dead.

Police have not established a motive for the killing.

The Morant Bay Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) is probing the murder.
