Canopy Insurance sponsors Sunshine Girl Crystal Plummer
KINGSTON:
Canopy Insurance is supporting Netball Jamaica’s Pre Commonwealth Games camp, and sponsoring Sunshine Girl Crystal Plummer.
According to Canopy, the sponsorship reflects the company’s belief that behind every sporting achievement is a story of dedication, sacrifice, and perseverance.
Introduced to netball during her primary school years, Plummer progressed through Jamaica’s youth programme before representing the country at the Under-16 level, where she helped the nation to celebrate victory at the Jean Pierre Caribbean Youth Tournament in St Lucia.
Plummer’s steady rise through the ranks culminated in her senior international debut in 2022, followed by her selection to Jamaica’s squad for the 2023 Netball World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa, where the Sunshine Girls secured bronze.
Beyond her achievements on the court, Plummer is also advancing her educational portfolio at GC Foster College of Physical Education and Sport, while balancing the demanding schedule of an elite athlete.
“At Canopy Insurance, we believe in supporting individuals whose dedication and determination inspire others,” said CEO Oliver Tomlinson.
“Crystal’s journey is one of discipline, perseverance, and excellence. She represents the very best of Jamaica’s emerging sporting talent, and we are honoured to support her as she continues to represent our country at the highest level.”
Plummer welcomed the partnership, describing it as an important source of encouragement.
“Representing Jamaica has always been a dream and an honour. I am incredibly grateful to Canopy Insurance for believing in me and supporting my journey. This partnership motivates me to continue working hard, striving for excellence, and making Jamaica proud every time I step onto the court,” she said.
The insurance company says the sponsorship reflects the company’s broader commitment to investing in people who represent Jamaica and inspire future generations through hard work, integrity, and achievement.
“As a Jamaican company, we understand the importance of standing behind our athletes,” Tomlinson stated. “When they succeed, Jamaica succeeds. We are proud to play a role in helping Crystal pursue her goals while inspiring young people to believe that, with determination and the right support, they too can achieve great things.”
