Recording artiste ‘Fido’ and father slain in execution-style killing
A father and son were found shot dead with their hands bound inside a house in New Forest, Manchester, early Friday morning in a chilling double murder that has left residents on edge.
The victims' identities have not yet been officially released. However, The STAR understands that the son was an aspiring recording artiste known by the moniker “Fido”.
Reports are that about 12:15 a.m., residents were startled by loud explosions and alerted the police.
When officers responded and searched the premises, they reportedly discovered the father and son with their hands bound. Both were suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
The two men were pronounced dead at the scene.
The brutal killings have heightened concerns about rising violence in Manchester, where murders have surged significantly since the start of the year.
Police statistics show that 14 murders were being investigated in the division up to May 31, compared to eight during the corresponding period last year, representing a 75 per cent increase.
Crime scene investigators processed the area as detectives launched a probe into the circumstances surrounding the double murder.
